Established in 1909, commemorating the Crown Prince's trip to Korea, it was established in two categories gold and silver.
It was awarded to all those involved in the Imperial family's visit to Korea in 1907.
The medal is silver, with a diameter of 30.3 mm, on its reverse is inscribed Meiji 40 [1907] October Commemorative medal of the Crown Prince's trip to Korea.' (明治四十年十月大日本国皇太子渡韓記章) . The case is made of lacquered wood.
