Wiki - Japan - War Medal 1914-15 and 1914-1920

 

 

Established in 1915, the medal was awarded participants in the fighting and operations between 1914-1915, including medical personnel who under the army and navy cared for the wounded, and civilian personnel serving in the army or navy.  
 
The medal is copper, with a diameter of 30.3 mm, on its reverse is inscribed Taisho 3-4 [1914.1915] war service.' (大正三四年戦役 ), on the pin above the ribbon is inscribed "War Dispatch Medal (従軍記章 )" . The case is made of unlacquered wood.
