Established in 1928, commemorating the enthronement of the Showa Emperor,
It was awarded to all those invited to the ceremony and its celebrations, and to its organizers.
The medal is silver, with a diameter of 30.3 mm, on its reverse is inscribed Showa 3 [1928] November, Commemorative medal of the enthronement.' ([大禮記念章 昭和三年十一月 ) . The box is made of pressed carton.
