The Order of the October Revolution was established by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on October 31, 1967. The order was established for the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the 1917 revolution and was designed by V. Zaitsev.
The order was awarded to citizens of the USSR, military units and civilian or state organizations, it was also awarded to foreign citizens in recognition of their merits in strengthening the USSR, its culture, bravery in combat or for the creation of friendly relations between countries and peoples of the world.
The central motif of the order is the image of the cruiser Aurora, a key player in the events of the 1917 revolution in St. Petersburg.
Collecting the order:
The order is made of silver and gold, there are two variants of it, the first variant has 4 rivets on the reverse (one holds the hammer and sickle) and the second variant was started to be manufactured from 1974 and has 5 rivets on the reverse (two hold the hammer and sickle).
