Awarded to a Captain of the Guard on 1. September 1944 becuase "Guards Captain Batishchev has been serving as assistant regimental commander for technical matters. During the breakthrough of the fortified enemy line of defensenorthwest of the city of Iași and during the subsequent pursuit of the retreating enemy, he showed himself a bold commander who is capable of taking initiative and possesses a perfect derstanding of his specialty. Thanks to comrade Batishchev’s capable leadership and personal initiative in dealing with the matter of employing and repairing transport vehicles, the regiment’s combat units, regardless of the combat conditions, did not encounter any irregularities in the supply of fuel and ammunition.

Neither enemy air attacks, nor artillery and mortar fire, nor the lack of supply routes could prevent the timely and accurate delivery of fuel and ammunition to the battalions.
Comrade Batishchev could be found in the most precarious sectors of battle and personally delivered ammunition and fuel and oversaw the repairs of transport and combat vehicles. Through personal example he inspired his subordinates.
